Women's Wellbeing Scan

£100

This scan is designed for women of any age, from puberty through to menopause. It is intended to provide diagnostic imaging and assessment tailored to the specific health needs of women throughout different stages of life. Whether you are seeking routine screening, investigating specific symptoms, or monitoring a known condition, this scan is adapted to address various health concerns that may arise during different life phases.

During the scan, we will examine your uterus, endometrium, ovaries, and cervix in detail. From these images, we can detect any abnormalities that may be present. It’s important to note that fallopian tubes are usually not visualized during this type of scan. However, if there is an abnormality present, it may still be detected indirectly through other findings or symptoms.

If you experience painful and heavy periods, changes in your menstrual cycle pattern, unusual vaginal discharge, have fibroids, a family history of ovarian cancer, low abdominal pain, or if you need to check the position of an IUD, we can assist you with this gynaecology scan.

No GP referral is required for this scan.

This scan provides valuable information regarding the health of your reproductive organs and can assist in identifying issues such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, or abnormalities in the uterine lining. If any concerns are identified during the scan, we will discuss them with you and recommend appropriate follow-up actions as needed.

What will I get?

Your 20-minute appointment includes:

  • A detailed professional report
  • Email containing all images from the scan

Any findings or abnormalities identified during the scan will be detailed in the report, which will be provided to you for your records. You can then share this report with your GP for further assessment and management if needed. This ensures that you receive comprehensive care and information regarding your health concerns.

IMPORTANT

Any pathology or abnormalities detected during the scan will be thoroughly described in the report. This report will be provided to you, and you can share it with your GP for further evaluation and management as necessary.

PREPARATION

The scan will be performed transvaginally, therefore no special preparation is required.

However, if you are unable to undergo an internal (transvaginal) scan, then a full bladder is required. Please drink 3-4 pints of water about 1 hour before your scan appointment. This will ensure optimal visualization during the transabdominal scan.

This preparation guideline ensures that we can provide you with the most accurate and informative ultrasound imaging based on your individual needs and preferences.
